Chameleonic Brief History
Tamara Longbottom formed Chameleonic Limited in 1995 as a showcase for young designers. Since the early days in Covent Garden the business has gone from strength to strength. In 2001 Colin Mortimer formally of Moultrie and Mortimer became head of Chameleonics design team. Colin studied 3D Design at the Royal College of Art and was sponsored by Pilkington's to research the potential of glassworks in the architectural environment. He has won several awards most notably the British Airways Young Designer Award for a collection of clad furniture. Some of his work has been auctioned through Christies's.
Chameleonic is now based in Fulham with workshops in Acton and specialise in producing individual work for urban chic bars and contemporary homes worldwide. A large proportion of our work is designing exclusive pieces to highlight any location.
During this period the company has had several exhibitions, which have proved to be very successful and resulted in numerous orders and commissions from trade and public, here and abroad. Clients include Barclays Bank, British Airways, British Telecom, Cafe' Lazeez, Channel Four, Escoroma Coffee Company, Institute of Chartered Acountants, Leiths, Libertys, London Fashion Week, Mercury Communications, Royal Shakespeare Company, Selfridges, Sound - London, Virgin Atlantic, Walt Disney as well as many breweries, architects , interior designers and private collectors.
Chameleonic aims to be as adaptable as its name suggests. Chameleonics collection provides a diverse selection and reflects the cutting edge of current trends. All pieces are designed in-house and made to order giving you the advantage of flexibility in specification of finish and size. Chameleonic can supply designs for both modern and traditional schemes using a variety of materials from wood, metal, glass and resin to rubber, leather, concrete and a selection of different stone. As you see our work draws on a wealth of techniques and styles. Chameleonic has access to an extensive amount of glass and metal working techniques including sandblasting, kiln forming, blowing, welding, C.N.C. spinning, electroplating and casting, along with a full woodworking facility.
We try to produce work that is a piece of art in its own right as well as being a functional item. There are no perimeters we accept commissions both large and small, commercial and domestic. If you have an idea that you would like to see realised then Chameleonic can bring it to life. We can provide you with a complete service from consultation, design and prototype through to manufacture and delivery throughout the UK.
